Google Analytics Can Benefit Digital Marketing
Businesses whose digital marketing strategies have successfully managed to get visitors to their websites could benefit from analysing customers actions once they arrive on the site.
The Google Analytics tool will allow digital marketers to track their customers’ movements and determine how long customers are spending on their website.
An extremely important area to analyse is exit pages. If businesses discover that a lot of consumers are leaving the site from a certain web page, then there could be a problem with that page. There could be many reasons for people leaving your site on a certain web page such as an IT issue or bad content but at least Google Analytics will highlight the issue so it can be investigated.
The Analytics tool will also measure the time spent on the site and the bounce rate, letting businesses know what impact any site changes have had.
It’s possible that companies using SEO services could even exploit their intended exits pages, allowing them to tailor their pages t make money.
Companies urged to target the ‘Mobile Internet’ market
With the mobile internet market continually growing it has been recommended that companies should be looking to create new campaigns specifically targeted to that type of advertising.
Jeff Gillis from the Google Analytics team and Feras Alhlou from E-Nor believe that businesses could see inferior conversion rates if they don’t optimise websites to target the mobile internet sector.
The pair advised that creating a specific campaign for mobile internet is vital to success and profits. They also recommend that companies send their traffic to customised landing pages.
Telecom industry business intelligence experts, Berg Insight, recently advised that the mobile marketing industry will grow massively between now and 2015 with annual growth of 41%.
Google Introduce ‘In-Page’ Analytics
Google has launched a new device to make it simpler to examine business websites.
Google has created a new ‘In-Page Analytics’ tool which is currently in the process of being beta tested. In-Page Analytics will superimpose Google Analytics data on to web pages as web browsing is performed.
A member of the Google Analytics Team, Trevor Claiborne, advised that the new Google tool should make it clearer to create a picture of how web users steer their way around websites. He also advised that Google has bold ideas for the service after the trial phase.
In September Google Analytics launched a new status dashboard which is used to keep users constantly up-to-date with the service and any problems that are being encountered. These changes have been made by Google in an effort to increase transparency for customers.
